BIOGRAPHY

Mira Armij Gill

Mira Armij Gill, of East-Indian descent and a Salt Lake City, Utah, native, graduated from The Juilliard School where she completed her bachelor’s degree as one of three students of the late John Browning. While at Juilliard she also received her master’s degree with Yoheved Kaplinsky, was awarded two Juilliard teaching fellowships, and won the International Young Artist Piano Award resulting in her New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Ms. Gill’s performance with the Utah Symphony under the baton of Joseph Silverstein was hailed by the Salt Lake Tribune as “a performance with confidence and flair.” She was invited to study at the Gnessin Institute in their inaugural piano festival in Moscow, Russia, and has become an active soloist and guest artist with orchestras in the United States, Europe, and Canada with performances broadcast on KSL and KBYU radio, as well as QPTV, and KSL television.
